Pain-Free and Nearly Fully Recovered Within Weeks ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a total left knee replacement carried out by Mr Obakponovwe in May 2026. I found him through Spire Portsmouth after repeatedly having trouble hitting the (in my view) really difficult BMI rules locally. This is the first major private surgery that I have been involved with so went in with eyes open. From first contact, Mr Obakponovwe was brilliant. He took me carefully through everything in terms that I could understand, and gave me a really thorough and comprehensive physical examination – something that I felt had been lacking in my NHS journey. His friendly, personable and above all enthusiastic manner inspired confidence and I decided to go ahead. So within 4 weeks I was operated on, and felt really well taken care of at every stage. The initial 6 week recovery period is as challenging as it is for anyone receiving this surgery, but now in July I can honestly say that the knee is almost fully functional and pain free and I am looking forward to even further improvement as I regain lost strength from preceding years. I really recommend Mr Obakponovwe to anyone with orthopaedic issues and will not hesitate to go to him again if I have any further needs.
